Me in a Nutshell...

Hello there,

My name is Kate.

Most call me K.D. or Katie

but you can call me Kate.

I am currently a student at Fort Lewis College

and I am majoring in Environmental Geology.

My true love is in music and photography,

I am a musician as well as a song writer.

I play violin, piano, and bass guitar.

Furthermore,

I have been in love with the art of photography since I was 12 years old.

I took my first photography class when I was 13 and I fell even more in love with the art.

My first camera was $3 point n' shoot from walgreens

with some Ilford black and white film.

I shot whatever I found to be interesting and my interest grew from there.

I progressed from working with manual SLRs to Twin-Lens Reflexes to DSLRs.

I have recently been able to work with a View Camera(like the one Ansel Adams used)

and I am interested in learning even more about different types of cameras.

I know how to work both black and white & colour film darkrooms.

I have done some studio work at the college but most of my work is freelance.

Moreover,

I was published in the Photography Vibes: The Best of 2008.

My art ranges from

Landscape

Senior Portraits

Family Portraits

Weddings

And

Freelance in general

If I find something to be beautiful,

I record it and then share it with the world.

You may not find it to be beautiful,

but I do and perhaps someone else does.
